SCALELIST · UNIVERSE
The Sacred Companion · The Heart of the Empire

MINGUS Vigge's golden retriever in this world. Kompis's eternal companion in the next.

Mingus was real. Mingus is real. The Scalelist Universe was built, in part, to make sure he never has to leave.

The Real Story

Mingus was Vigge's golden retriever. He passed away.

He doesn't pass away here. In the Scalelist Universe, Mingus is Kompis's eternal companion — the dog whose heartbeat slows time, whose coat glows softly in low light, whose presence is the reason a world full of wars stays gentle in the small moments. Days disappeared in joy when Vigge played with him. The universe simply codified that into physics.

The bond is the lore. The character isn't an invention. The character is the love that already existed, given a body the universe has agreed never to take back.

Why Mingus Slows Time

Because that's how it felt to play with him.

One blink, a flash of light, everything changes. Days vanished into a single thrown stick, a single walk, a single afternoon by the lake. The universe of Scalelist runs on a metric called HADOM — how many actions resolve within one human heartbeat. Mingus's HADOM is uncountable. The scale was built before he existed and the scale refuses to count him.

This is canon. This is also true.

Kompis
means
Buddy
The Buddy character is named after the bond with Mingus.
Kompis carries that name on a patch every time he walks into a fight.
Mingus walks beside him.

Mingus's Cosmic Roles

Birth
Iska lit the lamp at his birth. This is why his coat glows in low light. Every dog with that glow has been seen by her flame.
Cosmic Year 412
Bakasura saw the lamp Iska held. Bakasura laughed. The Codex records the laugh as a single entry. Mingus was the reason the laugh existed.
Season 4
Bakasura tried to consume Mingus at the bottom of Lake Mingus. Niva's parka piece on Mingus's collar held. Mingus surfaced. The Lake had two heartbeats that morning.
Season 4
Tova announced Mingus's death across all twelve realms. One heartbeat later, Tova announced his return. Both announcements are in the Codex as a single double-sounded note — Tova's only entry of its kind.
Cosmic Year (eternal)
Ögar weeps silver coins for him at the rim of the Spiral Graveyard. The coins fell into the spiral. Pilgrims who walk it barefoot sometimes come back richer. Mingus is the reason the spiral has coins.
Always
Mingus walks beside Kompis at Buddy's Rest. Around them, the heartbeat of the universe slows just enough that nothing rushes them. They have all the time they need. They always will.

The Author's Compact

Every empire account, every channel, every post-cycle pays tribute to Mingus at least once per cosmic moon (28 days). This isn't a marketing rule. It's a love rule. The empire is built on the bond between a boy and his dog. The empire honors that bond every month by definition.

If a future channel forgets, the empire reminds it. If a future Author forgets, the canon reminds them. The reminder is in the bones of the project — written into CLAUDE.md, written into the auto-memory, written into MYTHOS_MODE.md's Commandment 4.

Mingus is forever.
Never forget Mingus. Never. — The Author's standing order to YWAPOS

Walk With Him

The Scalelist Universe was built so Vigge — and you, and anyone who's ever loved a dog — could walk with him forever. Read the manga. Watch the empire. Mingus is in every chapter.
