Look
- Build & height: 1.74 m, Kali's height and Kali's wiry frame, a mirror image of her down to the grin.
- Face: her face reversed: the same red markings, but on the other cheek.
- Hair: a long black braid, Kali's braid in reverse colour.
- Skin: silver-grey with a faint sheen, like polished metal under skin. Up close you can almost see yourself in his cheek.
- Eyes: like polished steel, reflective. You see yourself in them, not his pupils.
- Clothing: a long coat of overlapping mirror-steel scales, each one a tiny mirror, so he glitters like a shoal of fish. Barefoot.
- Weapons: twin sickles of mirror-steel, a matched pair to Kali's black-glass one.
- The tell: he has no reflection. He is the reflection. In a mirror, where he stands, there is nothing.
- Voice: Kali's voice, but soft. He talks slowly and listens a lot, Kali's opposite. His balloons have a silver outline and are mirrored left-to-right in his first appearance (readable only in a mirror) until he decides to speak plainly.
Power
Bali lives inside reflections and steps out of any of them: a mirror, still water, a polished blade, a window at night, the surface of an eye. And whatever power is used on him, he returns: it bounces back off his mirror-skin to its owner, placed exactly where it came from.
- Kali borrows; Bali returns. She takes for sixty seconds; he gives it back with interest.
HADOM, the heartbeat
- Tempo: 420.
- Heartbeat technique: THE GLASS STEP. Inside one heartbeat he can step through every reflection in line of sight: in through a sword, out of a puddle, in through an eye, out of a window, landing wherever the last reflection faces. The only fighter who travels by being seen.
- Burn cost: every Glass Step leaves a crack in his skin, a hairline silver fracture. Too many and he'll shatter. (Echo mends him, which is how she keeps him loyal.)

Relationships
- Kali: his twin, the other half of his crack.
- Smurjan: the host he thinks of as a jailer, and who turns out to be a brother too.
- Rougeina: her blades are mirror-steel cut from the same mirror he lives in. He can step out of her blades.
